The U.S. National Science Foundation funds a variety of research opportunities in many different disciplines for undergraduate students called REU Sites. Applications are open now and have a variety of different deadlines, but generally applications are due at the end of January and the beginning of February. Stipends and often housing and travel are provided, with many programs having an emphasis on students from diverse backgrounds and students who have not yet had experience with research. The 2024 Cesar Chavez Research Symposium is open for undergraduate submissions! The symposium highlights students conducting research on Latinx in the U.S. and intransnational contexts. Undergraduates, with the mentorship of graduate students and faculty, will undertake a research project of their choosing within this topic and will showcase the reserach during the symposium, held March 7-8. Applications are due December 15th and you can email the department to learn more: latino@indiana.edu
The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Law and Social Science is now accepting applications for the 2024 cohort. This opportunity is open to current college sophomores and juniors, who will participate in Chigaco and receive a stipend of $6,000.
